JOIN AN ADVENTURE THAT WILL AWAKEN YOUR SPIRIT & BRING YOU BACK TO THE BEAUTY OF THE UNTAMED WEST
We offer four cattle drives a year, three in the spring and one in the fall.
As our guest you will:
Help gather and move our cattle to grazing locations throughout the ranch
Experience a rarely seen and unique landscape of central California
In the spring, view the vast and lovely wildflowers
Connect with nature, family and friends
Gain working knowledge on gathering, moving and sorting cattle
Build on existing and develop new riding skills and techniques
The ride officially starts with a "welcome dinner" on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Parkfield Cafe and typically ends late afternoon on Sunday. We recommend you arrive mid-afternoon if possible so you can get settled in before dark.
The first night you will set up camp at our Blue Oak Horse Camp 2.7 miles from the Parkfield Cafe. The next morning after breakfast meet your horse, put your belonging in the horse trailer for transport to Mustang Camp and start your adventure. Mustang Camp, where we will be the following two nights is located high on the Diablo Mountain Range here on the ranch. You can choose to bring a tent or sleep out under the stars. Though you will be camping, hot and cold water, and toilets and shower will be available.
Guests provide their own camping gear, which will be transported for you up to the remote Mustang Camp.
Breakfast and dinner will be provided at our V6 Chuck Wagon dining area. Packed lunches will also be provided for you to eat out on the trail.
The last evening join us around the campfire for some cozy Saturday night entertainment.
8 and up are welcome. Maximum group size is 25.
Lodging is also available for Thursday night at the Parkfield Lodge which is located about 3 miles away from the Blue Oaks Horse Camp, six bunkhouse rooms located at the Blue Oak Horse Camp are available for rent Thursday night as well.
Though V6 horses are provided, if you choose to bring your own horses with you there are plenty of stalls, feed and water available.
