We’re not your average guest ranch, so here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

 

Is the v6 ranch always open to visitors?

No, the V6 Ranch is first and foremost a working cattle ranch so guest activities are all guided and available on a limited basis.

The best way to enjoy the V6 Ranch is to join one of our Ranch Rides in the Spring or Fall. You can see our available rides here.

How do I sign up for a V6 Ranch Ride?

  1. Fill out the form here to request a registration form.

  2. Fill out and sign the V6 Ranch registration form and V6 Ranch Release. A $500 deposit must be received within seven days to hold your reservation. If a deposit is not received within seven days, your spot will be forfeited. 

  3. Your balance is due no later than 30 days prior to your arrival.

We are a family-run team and are frequently working on the ranch, so it can take a few days to receive a registration form. Requests will be processed in order of receipt.

what is the V6 Cancelation policy?

Due to the small group sizes on V6 Ranch Rides, cancelations have a significant impact and we must adhere to a strict cancellation policy. Please reach out to us at info@v6ranch.com to make any modifications to your reservation. 

  • Reservations may be canceled or moved up to 60 days prior to your arrival less a 10% processing fee.

  • Reservations that have been moved to a different date are non-refundable and may incur an additional fee.

  • Moving a reservation within 60 days of the arrival date results in a $200 processing fee and the new date becomes non-refundable.

  • Reservations can only be moved one time.

  • Reservations that are canceled within 60 days of your arrival date result in a forfeited deposit. 

  • Reservations that are canceled within 30 days of your arrival date result in a forfeited deposit and a 10% processing fee. 

  • If you cancel once your final balance has been paid, there are no refunds.

  • There are no moving reservations once your final balance has been paid.

  • Guests that depart prior to the end of a scheduled reservation are responsible for the total original stay amount. 

  • We strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance.

V6 ranch rides and events are held rain or shine

On a ranch in California, there is no better day than a rainy day! The ranch is BEAUTIFUL in the rain and we will do our best to ride around the rain.

How early do I need to sign up for a V6 Ranch ride?

We recommend signing up for V6 Rides at least six months in advance as spaces are limited and fill up quickly. However, last minute spots often open up, so be sure to inquire or join our waitlist.

How big is the V6 Ranch?

The V6 Ranch is 20,000 acres with over 50 miles of trails.

Does a reservation at the Parkfield Lodge give me access to the V6 Ranch?

No, a reservation at the Parkfield Lodge does not grant you access to the V6 Ranch.

The V6 Ranch is first and foremost a working cattle ranch so guest activities are all guided and available on a limited basis.

Is the Parkfield Lodge on the V6 Ranch?

No, the Parkfield Lodge is in the town of Parkfield, 2.5 miles from V6 Blue Oak Camp.

Are v6 rides open to all skill levels?

Yes! All of our rides are open to all rider skill levels. We have activities and horses to fit all skill levels, from first time to advanced riders.

What is the age limit?

We are open to guests aged 7 and older.

What is the weight limit?

To ensure the safety of our horses we unfortunately must enforce a weight limit of 250 lbs.

Can i bring my own horse on a v6 Ride?

Yes you can! You are welcome to bring your own horse on a V6 Ranch Ride (excluding stallions).

On V6 Ranch Cattle Drives, if you bring your own horse we ask that you make sure they are in very good shape and have shoes on as the miles are long and the terrain can be very steep and rocky.

Can I come horse camping on the V6 Ranch?

No, all of the activities on the V6 Ranch are guided and available on a limited basis. If you would like to ride on the V6 Ranch, we recommend you join one of our Ranch Rides in the Spring or Fall. You can see our available rides here.

Can i bring my own group to the V6 ranch?

Can I bring my dog on a v6 ride?

Well behaved dogs are welcome on the V6 Ranch, however they are not allowed on the trail and must be kept on a leash in camp at all times.

Dogs are also allowed in the Parkfield Lodge for an additional fee of $30 per night. Two dog limit.
